Memorial Scholarship
Please Note Only Gunnison High School Graduates May Apply
The 1971 Gunnison High School Memorial Scholarship awards annual scholarships to two Gunnison High School graduates each year. GHS graduates of all ages may apply and the scholarship may be awarded to those planning to attend universities, junior colleges, or trade schools.
Some of the key criteria for the awards are an applicant’s ability to overcome adverse circumstances, financial need, academic standing, and school, activity and community involvement. Digital submissions only. If this is a barrier, please contact us so we can help.
Be sure to collect all of your materials to submit online before starting the application as you will not be able to save your work.

Budget about 10 minutes to complete the application, but note there is a required essay question (100 - 750 words) that may take more time. Below is a list of items you will need to have ready for the application and the essay prompt.
1 Digital Format Recommendation letter from non-related Faculty Member
1 Digital Format Recommendation letter from a non-related Community Member
Digital Format Acceptance letter from college, trade school, or program
Digital Format List of any Volunteer, Extracurricular, Scholastic, or Leadership Activities (optional, but encouraged)
Digital Format of High School and any College Transcripts
Digital Senior Picture: jpeg format
Essay Prompt (100-750 words): In your own words, describe how you have overcome a difficult or diverse circumstance of which you were faced with.
